Could I have a private post please? I’m 17 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby. I have an anterior placenta. My daughter was born sleeping last year so I’m really struggling with this pregnancy, I’m constantly worrying and thinking something bad is going to happen. At this stage I felt my little girl move but obviously I haven’t with my rainbow, my question is, has anybody else had an anterior placenta and how far was you when you first felt movement? Thank you๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’—

  • I was 24+ weeks when I started to feel my baby move with an anterior placenta, movements were far and few that I could feel easily. I had to really concentrate to feel them. I’m sorry to hear about your little one. If you do have any concerns at all do go get checked ๐Ÿ™‚ towards the end of my pregnancy I went to triage a few times just to get reassured. She’s nearly 1 now. Congratulations on your rainbow โค๏ธ

  • I had anterior placenta and didn’t feel movement until 23 weeks even then throughout the pregnancy i couldn’t feel much. Even at my 20 week scan we could see bubs moving loads, I couldn’t even feel it. Later on I still never felt so much but could see my bump move xxx

  • I never actually felt my babies move. Drs and midwives didn’t believe me. Turns out I had anterior placenta, a tilted womb and endometriosis that had stuck all my organs together which cushioned everything x

  • My rainbow baby who is 1 next month had an anterior placenta. I started feeling little faint movements around 18 weeks and they got stronger week by week. Congratulations on your rainbow i had 2 miscarriages before my rainbow and felt worried sick all the way through just a natural instinct wanting to know there ok in there xx

  • Everyone’s different.. I have anterior placenta.. felt my first flutters at 17 weeks. (Although initially I thought it was wind) I was 21 weeks I think when I made my brother sit with his hand on my belly coz I thought i had gone crazy, but he felt her move too! Although I have an anterior placenta I know the more she grows the placenta has moved up.. I’m 32 weeks now and she’s such a fidget. On the go constantly.. xx

  • I was around 24/25 weeks! When I went for my 20 week scan she said can you feel these movements and I said no and panicked and she explained it’s normal due to the anterior placenta, your naturally going to worry but you will soon feel baby moving x

  • I was around 21/22 weeks before I felt noticeable moments with my anterior placenta. Sometimes I could feel around 20 weeks if I was really paying attention x

  • I was 19 weeks when I felt definite movement with baby 1. I’m also a bigger lady who was told I wouldn’t feel baby till late on because of both things. If you have any concerns just get checked out. Midwives would rather send you home after checking you and all be well than you not get checked and something happens xxx

  • I felt flutters at 19 weeks and from then on they got stronger (slowly) although I felt movements I always felt like they were slightly cushioned as they weren’t too hard and it took a long time for anyone else to feel them. Everyone is different though x

  • I had an anterior placenta and I first felt movement at 20+3 but from then on it was difficult feeling my LG move. Was always at triage being monitored. Eventually, the doctors decided to set an induction date at 39 weeks because I had so many episodes of reduced movement’s but had a sweep at 38 weeks which worked.

  • Yes. With this my 3rd pregnancy. Didn’t feel anything major that was deffo a kick till 23 weeks. Now 36 and still at times I don’t feel what can be heard on the ctg. always go and get checked. The midwives know the placenta cushions baby and they are more than happy to put you on the monitor.
I’ve hated having an anterior placenta. If in doubt just call.
Sorry for your loss and congrats on your rainbow xxxx

  • I was 19 weeks before I felt my son move, and even then it was only flutters rather than kicks, proper kicks started about 23/24 weeks but they always felt a bit muffled, more like pokes than kicks! Towards then end from 34 weeks onwards when it got a bit cramped in there they were definitely more noticeable x

  • Because of anterior placenta, I didn’t feel my second until 28 weeks! If you’re overly worried you can contact your midwife and ask for extra heart beat checks etc but it will happen x
