Could someone do a private post for me please? I moved in to a new flat in june (was desperate to get out of old house so would have took anything) now were in the colder months the heating is becoming a real problem. There is no gas in the property, the heaters we have are daft electric ones you plug in and they release hot air. The minute you turn them off the heat goes too! They also use a crazy amount of electricity. Im literally struggling to keep on top of it. Was just wondering if anyone knows about this type of thing and if theres anything my landlord has to do? I have 2 kids under 2 and the windows are single glazing so were really feeling the cold just now xx

Pretty sure as long as their providing heating there is nothing you can do. If you need advice go to the council they can help you with what your landlord should be providing. They can also inspect the property to see if it is up to living standards and then take action against your landlord if it’s not. Bottom line I would seek advice from the professionals x
