Good morning asking for a friend

I’m in a relationship with my partner we have been together 5 years and have two young children together. We would like a proper little wedding when we can afford it maybe In 2-4 years time . He lives at work and I’m about 3 hours away from him , he visit us every other weekend when he can . He has been talking to me about us living together .. they have an option where he would like me to give him legal responsibility for our children so he can get housing as soon as possible .. what’s people opinion .. I haven’t agreed as I believe it unfair ..

  • Can you reply to post

His in the British army .. apparently if he has custody of the kids he would get housing quicker . Please note his on the birth certificate so they both has the right for their two children

  • As an army wife, I know that if you’re married, you’ll get a house ‘a married quarter’.

  • no never give up your legal right you may loss your kids as parents if on birth certificate then you both have legal right anyway. sorry but if wait till a house comes up normally. don’t ever risk you losing your children. he may never do that but just imagine of he did. xx

  • If it’s British army and he has them for a minimum of two nights a week he can get a house however it will be if there is one available as he won’t be priority, then you will be able to move in too unmarried

  • What does he do for a living? That seems wierd that if he has legal responsibility for the kids he will get housing asap, is that through the council?

  • It dosent didn’t mean he will get a house any faster . Th he might not even get housed near u because he’s not living in thAt area. I would never give up my rights for my children for a council house
