Hello can I have private post please.
Really need some advice I’m a single mum and have a young son who’s one and I have a cat I have had my cat for 6 year I adopted him when he was 2 as he was abused by his previous owner. I’m really struggling since my son has started crawling he has been obsessed with the cat. But my cat has no interest in my child and really seems to hate him. Over the last few months my cat has desided that one corner of my living room which is where my son’s toys where is to pee in like his rebellion against him there’s no where else in house he does it. I capet clean the whole room multiple times a week with spectalist pets cleaner to remove smell and bacteria. There is plenty of spaces the cat can sit sleep or get away from my child. As my child does chance him and try grab him. But now my cat desided he gunna stay there and not move and will do odd bat and scratches to tell him to leave him alone. I have even tryed disaplinging my son who is one and doesn’t understand not to pull the cat and that the cat doesn’t want to play with him. As he trys giving him cars and things. But now my cat has gone and hit my son’s hand and drawn blood. My son’s fine but really feel at my last straws with the cat. And think re homing is my last option but is hard due to my mental health issues my cat was the only thing I had for such a long time idea of giving him aways just kills me. So I’m stuck as I need do what’s best for my son. But I think as he gets older he will learn to leave the cat alone. Dunno what I really want from this but has anyone had issues with pets like this that as the child grows up it gets easyer. Or any suggestions what I can do.
