Hello could I have a pp please, also can you let me know when posted so I can check comments- thank you. My 5 year old has always been challenging in the behaviour department but then today (Saturday) & Wednesday she’s been horrendous. On Wednesday night I left a note from her elfs saying they’d saw her bad behaviour & they needed it to improve so they could report back to santa etc didn’t really make a difference Thursday but Friday she was so good, she kept saying the elves will be impressed & I praised her all day about how good she was. Today she’s been absolutely horrible again, cheeky, rude, not listening etc after at least 10 warnings earlier & telling her if she carried on she’d go to bed (it was slightly past her bedtime but I’d said she could stay up to watch a film if she was good) she looked me straight in the eye & continued! I put her to bed as warned & despite it taking almost 2 hours of screaming & apologies she did eventually go to sleep. I had planned to leave a special key off the elves tonight along with her xmas eve box but then I feel I’m rewarding her bad behaviour. We’re out all day tomorrow on a special day out so have wrote another note from the elfs saying she has to be really good & they might leave her something special for when we get home. What would you do if she’s as badly behaved tomorrow? I have a 14 year old son who’s been brought up the same & was never this bad- I do spoil them both at xmas, we have days out, weekends away at theme parks etc as well as alway doing crafts, baking etc when at home so it’s definitely not a lack of attention! How can I use Santa as a deterrent all month & then just give all the presents anyway? I’m toying with the idea that if things are as bad tomorrow possibly postponing most the presents until boxing day but I’d just feel absolutely awful if it was to come to that. What would you do?
