hey can you post this annonymously?

I know the page is “mums advice but your followers seem to be very helpful with other people in the past I thought Id give it a go if that is ok with yourselves?

I have been planning since the beginning of November to propose to my long term girlfriend at midnight on New Years. I threw her (and everyone else) off the scent by telling her that my priority is to save for a house to move in together next year but the saving was going ahead of schedule and in November we thought she might be pregnant so I thought with a new house and baby on the way in 2018 why not start the year off in the best way by proposing so I bought a ring.

Anyway not long after buying the ring we found out she isn’t pregnant but I was still going to go ahead with proposing until my brother proposed a few days ago to his girlfriend. Me and him are very very close and I don’t want him or his fiancée to think I’m trying to take the shine off their news and I don’t want my own girlfriend or rest of family to think I’m only doing it because he done it.

I know sounds silly but I’m now thinking about proposing at her birthday in Spring to leave a space between.

What do you think? Should I go ahead with New Year? Or wait until her birthday? Should I speak to my brother & his fiancée first to see what they think? These are all the things running through my head just now
