Hey could i have a pp please

So tonight i found out my grandma inlaw had passed my parter is at work and will be till late my question is how do you tell your partner someone he loved has passed? I know its going to kill him n its killing me knowing why he still dosnt know i dont want to tell him why his at work coz he has enough problems there n dosnt need this on top of it as his boss wont let him go home please any advice how to tell him i dont know how im ment to do it 😣
