Hey could I have a ppp 😊

Hey ladies so I’m hoping for a bit of advice with regard to returning to work after maternity. My job is a full time job and I’m the only one there with an assistant. My work load has decreased slightly since I left for my maternity and based on that I thought I would approach my boss about going part time or dropping some hours. I went to see him face to face and almost before I could finish my question he point blank said no. It’s a full time job and that’s it.
Now I know they are ‘supposed’ to consider any requests to go part time but don’t have to give it so now I don’t feel like I can’t go down the formal route as the answer will still be the same and I’d just have a boss that hates me too! (He’s the type u don’t wanna get on wrong side of) Thinking about just leaving now but my job is well paid and very stable so I just feel really annoyed that it hasn’t even been considered when I know I could do say two full days and two half days with one day off. Just sucks and don’t know what to do. Advice or personal experiences would be appreciated xx
