Heya can I have a post please? Anyone else have trouble taking their little one abroad when they have a different surname?? My boy doesn’t have my surname and when I’ve took him away previously I’ve been advised to start taking his birth certificate from now on.. I have got the part of the certificate with the jobs and parents etc on but I don’t have the long one. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? I’ve spoken to the airline and they don’t know, I’ve been online and it’s telling me I need permission via letter from the other parent before taking him… Is this true?? Totally stressing as I go on holiday in the morning and only thought about it properly today 😩 hope that makes sense! TIA x

A permission letter is best to have. I got stopped bringing my daughter back into the UK after our holiday x
No none at all I have just been to America and wasn’t even questioned x
Definitely take the birth certificate .. And a letter if you can get one .. The more info you have the better. They can stop you and question you
I’ve been advised to have a letter that’s been legalised by a solicitor
