Hi can I have a pp please.
I just wondered if I could get some advice on what is considered correct development for a child of 7 so my lb is 7 only just and he is goons into year 3 in September, and he can’t dress himself properly he can put a t shit on and trousers but every day I have to do the trousers up and his top up and put his jumper on, he can’t brush his teeth or feed himself properly I have tried and tried and tired with him every day shown him over and over again how to brush his teeth and hold a knife and fork but he just ends up getting a spoon to eat his meals at school he doesn’t eat much really, at home he is constantly supervised because he will do random things like hit his siblings or try and climb on the side and help himself to things or push a chair into the kitchen to climb and get what he wants if for example he says he is going to the toilet if he is longer than say 5 min I have to check and make sure he isn’t just running the taps for the sake of if, at school he has flooded the toilets 3 times in the last 6 months and the classroom once by blocking the pugs and just turning the taps on but they let him go off and he isn’t supervised like he is at home, he also takes things from school he likes the look of things and just takes them ( don’t condone this behaviour) but he doesn’t seem to grasp that he is stealing, he is extremely tearful and will cry at least 5-7 times a day, he goes to bed at 7 after a story and prayers but he will still be awake every night until around 11pm. I would say he is reaching his expected targets at school but they have said he can’t hold a pencil correctly and it affects his ability to write, so he has a little extra help but nothing major. He is really quite and shy and he is always in “his own world ” and he didn’t actually speak until he was around three, I suppose what I want to know is it normal need the extra help with basic things listed above?
