Hi, can I have a pp please?

I’m 4 weeks postpartum after a normal vaginal birth. My question is about bleeding afterwards… so with my first baby I bled for about 3 and half weeks it tapered off to a browny colour and then just stopped which was fine but with this one it started to do the same by the end of the third week again turning a browny colour then it stopped then the next day it was bright red then the next day there was nothing then the next day bright red again then nothing, it’s been on and off like this for the last week. Is this normal? Is it a period? I’ve heard that bleeding bright red blood after its started to change colour isn’t good, is that right? Thanks x
