Hi can I have a PPP. I am 25 weeks pregnant and found out that I am rhesus negative.. my midwife gave me a leaflet about it and told me I have to have Anti-D injections etc, but reading the leaflet I’ve scared myself to death because it says about dangers of still birth and diseases that could be passed onto my baby đŸ˜ĸ my baby’s checks (i.e. Downs) have all come back on the lowest chance, heartbeat is strong and on the 20 week scan they said baby was healthy and exactly on the average line. Am I right to be worried? Has anyone here got any stories or advice? Just need reassurance I guess đŸ˜ĸ FTM x

  • There’s nothing wrong with anti d! I’ve had it twice this pregnancy. Once for bleeding and once more at 28 weeks. It’s to protect your baby and any future baby’s! If you don’t have it your body will create antibodies against your child’s blood group if they are positive. It might not affect this pregnancy but if you choose not to have it they tell you to make sure you don’t want anymore kids because the antibodies will affect later pregnancies. And you can make your child really sick / loose them ☚ī¸
Honestly, it’s nothing to worry about! 😊

  • Im rhesus negative and my understand in was these are the complications WITHOUT the injection, hence why they give you it. I know its all a worry but take comfort in the fact this is all to protect your baby. Good luck and congratulations 😃

  • I am RHneg…. it’s ok you have a jab now while pregnant and a jab if you have any bleeds during pregnancy and then when you have baby they take some blood from babies cord and blood from you and if the baby is a positive blood group then you have another jab… as long as you have the jabs there is nothing to worry about at all â˜ē enjoy pregnancy and don’t worry xx

  • I was really scared to have it as I hate injections. The doctor at the hospital explained it to me & said it could be fatal for my baby. I had no doubts then to have it. It was done & dusted in a minute

  • Bless you poor thing. I’m rhesus negative,as my partner is also I didn’t need the injection. It’s basically if your negative and your partner is positive in future pregnancys your body can fight babies blood cells and risk losing baby.ask your midwife to explain it properly to you xxx

  • I am rhesus negative. I have had 3 pregnancies carried to term & 1 that sadly ended at 7-8wks. As a result of this I have had anti d given a good 8 times now. My 7yr old girl is happy & healthy though has ASD & GDD (but then I have Aspergers myself), my 5yr old girl is a happy & healthy NT girl & my boy / girl twins are 27wks old with no major health issues.
