Hi can I have a ppp.
Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this, so I’m 40+3 and baby was engaged 1/5 at 38 weeks I went for a sweep today and my MW couldn’t do it as she said baby has disengaged and told me to sit on a birthing ball and walk lots. What did you ladies do and how long did it take after for you to go into labour?
I feel like I took 2 steps back today and just feel like its never going to happen! Tia.

I went to a sweep at 40 and 4 with my 3rd and she couldn’t do it. Said I was only 1 cm and 2/5 engaged. We’d given up hope of our birth plan and resigned ourselves to going in… He came himself the next evening 2 days before my induction was scheduled. Got to have my home birth after all! All 3 tines my waters haven’t gone until they’ve broken them when i was fully dilated. Some of then just start from nothing and go for it in one foul swoop I think. Its true what the old uns say, they just come when they’re ready little blighters. Good luck x
I was 2/5 engaged. First baby (one and only). Was about 40+2.. went for 2nd sweep and couldn’t do it for same reasons! Midwife was abit shocked. Apprently not very common with first baby? Not sure though. I ended up booked in for induction at exactly 42 weeks. That morning my waters broke naturally before going to hospital.
I went 7 days over with my 3rd. went for a sweep at 40+6 and she couldn’t do it. said baby has disengaged & cervix was high, hard and facing the wrong way.
was booked in the following week for induction. No possible way would I go into labour on my own….
Came home that evening after the 5:30pm appt and cried and cried as I’d so desperately wanted to have him “naturally”
5am following morning I woke in full blown labour and he was born naturally less than an hour later!
Don’t lose faith!
I can’t really remember first as was induced but non of my baby’s was engaged till when I went into labour my labours just started really high up
