Hi can I have a ppp

I’m a bit nervous to post as I have seen a lot of bashing and judgment on this page but I need advice X

My daughter will be 3 this month and is still on nappies , I have tried her on pull ups , normal pants and been trying the potty and the pan , she just doesn’t seem to want to do it and I’m worried she will get bullied when she goes back to nursery as the teachers already said last year that this isn’t normal and she should be off nappies all together! I don’t know what to do anymore , she will sit on it and not do anything ? Any advice is appreciated , no bashing pls X

  • My little one is 4 and only got out of nappies 2 months ago. I’m so glad I didn’t push him he is now doing everything by himself and is clean nights and days. Don’t bother about what other say keep trying don’t give up that’s the only advice I can give

  • really annoys me when they label this isn’t normal for a child . as a mom u teach them train them as much as you can children will do it when they feel comfortable .every childs different with training. I think there’s far too.much pressure on mom’s these days and for kids . stick at it and shel do it when she feels it’s right and ready good luck xxx

  • Stay inside for a while. Put pants on her. Let her get wet, they usually don’t like this. Don’t get angry or annoyed with her just continue to encourage her to go to toilet. When you go to toilet (or pee in potty ypurself) let her watch then point at the pee pee and reward yourself for doing that, make a big fuss of yourself oh good mummy, clap your hands, jump around and get excited, mummy gets a treat now, maybe a sweetie or something she would normally like. Don’t give your daughter the treat, just you. Ask her if she wants to try. Do this over and over. You will teach her to associate potty time as a happy time. It’s hard work but you need to keep at it. Once she’s in pants DO NOT go back to nappies as this will only confuse her and make it alot harder for her to move on. Good luck xxx

  • Actually I consider 3 to be a good age to start toilet training. They have better understanding and don’t forget that age is still quite young. We have tried a few times with our son but we don’t push because he’s not ready. He’s almost 3.5 and we’re just trying again to see if he takes to it better. But he doesn’t speak much and lacks understanding of a lot of speech.

  • My little girl was exactly the same she 3 this month and only just started her as she refused in past I told her she wasn’t allowed in nursery unless she went toilet I’ve bought her knickers and chocolate for when she does use the toilet and touch wood she is doing ok only been doing it since beggining of school holidays but telling her a pit nursery seems to help her xx

  • Don’t fret!
    There is no real ‘normal’.
Don’t feel bullied by the nursery staff.
This is one of those things that children sort out when they’re ready.
The best thing you can do for your child is be patient and encourage her.

  • My son is 3 on Saturday and still in nappies, he is starting to go longer periods without a wet nappy but still refuses to use the potty sometimes and asks for a nappy, sometimes he tells us he needs to do a wee but most times he tells us he needs a nappy change and would rather a nappy, our daycare isn’t to concerned but have been trying to potty train him

  • My daughter is 3 and a half and only just potty/toilet traind, she wouldnt wee on toilet or potty and i was trying for months , basically have to be persistent , get a sticker chart and well jus put knickers on her and yeh thyll b weeing everywher, wet clothing and lots of changing but believe me she will get it every child is dif and learn at dif rates , ur childs nursery is wrong for saying its not normal , my daughter only startd at a new nursery in june( a school ) and they where nothing but supportive and even helped . Now shes out of a nappy apart frm bed time! Xx

  • My son was only potty trained a few months after his 3rd birthday. And the health visitor never said it wasn’t normal, kids train at different ages. The only thing that helped my son was a reward chart as it encouraged him. Xx

  • Incontinence sheets on seats/beds and no pants in the house. Let her choose whether or not to wear a nappy to go out and to bed.
Just my suggestion. In the end, every kid is different.

  • My daughter is almost 4 and still in pullups she will go wee in the potty or loo but pooping is a no go (bowel problems) pushing them will make them scared to go and that can cause all sorts of problems x

  • Fuck them, my daughter is 5 and is still in them, although she has other issues, school tried to force her but rebelled, now she’s doing it in her own time and I’ll be there with her every step of the way

  • Tell the teacher to f@#k off. She will do it when she’s ready they are all different. My little one was older than 3 before he was potty trained my eldest was 2! They will do it when they are ready xx

  • My 2 year old is the same, she actually asks for the nappy and says no potty. I’ve tried toilet too. Tried a million things but she’s just not interested

  • Stay in the house for a full wee don’t pur nappies or pull ups on her she’s old enough now to realise what she should be doing x

  • Honestly what a load off rubbish. My eldest was a week off his 3rd birthday,my second was 2 1/2 and my youngest was a month off being 3. She’ll do it when she’s ready. Have the potty sitting about and try putting her on the loo with a kids seat when you run her a bath. I found I got a result most times with that. If you try and force it before she’s ready it just becomes stressful for everyone. Just wait another wee while
