Hi can I have a ppp?x

Basically was just wondering if I can choose to have a c-section? This will be my second baby, with my first I bled really bad afterwards and I really don’t want to have a natural birth this time round. Would they let me have one? Tia x

  • I think you bleed either way, what I do know is that a recovery for a c section can be horrendous especially with another one running round! Every birth is different. But if you feel strongly I think you can choose xx

  • Erm I bled more during and after my c section. You lose more blood with a c section typically as its surgery. The recovery isn’t great either, you’re aware it can be near impossible to even hold your baby to start. Its not something to elect lightly. Despite having a c section you still have the huge internal wound caused by the placenta coming away, this is what causes a great deal of the bleeding, it can’t be avoided.

  • I don’t understand why anyone would choose to have a c section, I know it’s personal choice and for some women it’s unavoidable but the recovery time is so much longer not to mention the pain. I don’t think they would let you have a c section just because you bled badly, I think lots of women bleed badly, I was offered a c section with my second as I had such a horrendous birth with my first, I refused and my second birth was so easy in comparison and I’m so glad I didn’t go for the c section, it’s definitely not the easy option as I think some people think

  • Woman of 2 c sections and my 3rd will be done in November doctors orders…. c sections ain’t all bad and the recovery personally for myself is okay a bit sore at times but durable…. unless there is complications in previous labour or problems in current pregnancy then doctors don’t go for opt c sections… as for bleeding after both mine I hardly bled in the 1st 6 weeks but the 1st period is the worst thought I was hemouraging so each to their own but good luck x

  • You can bleed with a C section too, your vagina is still gonna hurt. C section recovery sucks a lot for most ladies. You can’t even pick up your baby for a while. Just do a Vaginal delivery. Each delivery is different. Just because your first was like that doesn’t mean this one will be.

  • You can ask for c sections now and then can book you in for one but if you go in to labour before your operation date you may have to deliver naturally either way you have risks though so don’t go into it blind make sure you do your research before you commit to one x

  • Honestly unless you had an awful first time labour with loads of troubles you won’t be allowed a c section. And if you mean by bleeding loads like the normal bleeding after labour I’m 7 weeks after a c section and still bleeding badly. Good luck tho! Xx

  • You still bleed after a C-section and the recovery is much worse and longer I’ve had 3 natural and 3 sections x
