Hi can I have a private post?

Pic below.

I was at the doctors on the 25th of April to get my coil removed as it was sore. The doctors took it out and said it wasn’t fitted correctly (had it fitted 9 months ago). I had a smear and bloods done at the same time. On Saturday I revived a letter from the community health visitor telling me I’m pregnant?! I rushed to take a test and it came back negative? Has anyone experienced anything like this before? How could the health visitor know without the doctor telling me? The letter is also dated the same day I was at the doctors? Help a worried mummy out 🙈🙈

  • Could you reply for me, the letter says:

    Dear parent/ carer
My name is **** I work for ***** health visiting team. I have been recently allocated as a named health visitor for both of your children. I am also aware that you are currently pregnant and I would like to offer you antenatal home visit. I have booked to see you on ********

    Thanks x

  • I would say it’s maybe an error on the HV part. She’s likely to keep a letter template and has maybe forgot to take that bit out. Could be wrong but that’s what I’d think xx

  • The letter has many spelling mistakes and just doesn’t look like a letter we would send out. Have you googled the number that is on the letter? I’d go to your GP with that letter and show them tommorow
Also Why does it say Dear Parent / Carer?

  • If it’s not been fitted properly you could be pregnant. Also remember you can get a false negative but not a false positive. Blood tests are a lot more accurate than sticks too. You could only be 1-3 weeks but it just won’t show on a stick x

  • Oh my god!!! It is the correct Scottish NHS logo…. my letters are sent to me in black and white and are headed dear parent / guardian… why would anyone hoax her? If she’s not pregnant she ain’t gonna let a random stranger into her home!! Plus read the comments … clearly someone above has worked with this HV so she is a legitimate HV!! She clearly had a chance of being pregnant if coil wasn’t in correctly… the blood test may show a positive but too soon for pee stick…. but again… it may well be an error on HV part… and for the grammar and punctuation … where ever humans are involved there’s always a possibility if human error!! Contact doctor surgery tomorrow xx

  • It’s the NHS Scotland logo and I know this lady as we trained together as health visitors. She’s a lovely very kind warm person, so just give her a ing tomorrow, I’m sure there’s an explanation xx

  • They certainly would not be telling you that you are pregnant via a letter. If this is genuine then it has been sent as an error. Call your gp and ask on their procedures around using community HV’s, i.e for what reason would they visit and ask them if it says one has booked a home visit.

  • A pregnancy test will only come up positive when you are about a couple weeks pregnant I believe? Correct me if I’m wrong? So the tests they done, this early shows you are clearly pregnant, but I would personally give them a call first to check that is correct.

But congrats if it’s true 🙂

  • If this letter is genuine, the positive would of come from your blood test, and you maybe too early to show on a pee stick! And by error the gp surgery may not of let you know yet. Ring first thing?

  • It doesn’t even look like an NHS letter? Letters I’ve had don’t have that logo. And if it’s the first you are hearing about it they definitely wouldn’t just pop it in a letter……? I’d definitely be calling your GP

  • Don’t ring the number on the letter!! Go on Google and find out exactly what number it is for your hv and ring that. It doesnt look right to me x

  • It’s from a health visitor and she’s been allocated as a named health visitor for both her ( the posters) children and says she is aware she is pregnant and offers a home visit. And to call If the date given is not suitable.

  • You should definitely phone your doctors surgery and find out if they sent the letter, if they didn’t maby call the police and ask them what you should do about it? xx
