Hi can I have a private post please as I’ve not announced my pregnancy yet. I am 5 weeks pregnant with an 18 month old little girl. She will be just over 2 when the baby is born. This baby was planned and I’m happy and exited but also suddenly very scared! Today I’ve felt so anxious thinking I might have ruined my daughters life as she is so clingy and won’t even let her dad kiss or hug me without being upset, I’m so worried it will break her heart when the baby comes! Also worried I won’t love new baby as much as I absolutely cannot imagine ever loving anyone as much as I love her!! 3rd worry is am I going to cope with a 2 year old and a toddler?!
Please can some one reassure me that it’s all going to be ok and my daughter will adjust and be happy with a brother or sister??? How did you all find the age gap if you had similar? Tell me you love life with 2 kids!
Sorry if this sounds horrible I know I’m very blessed and I am happy it’s just suddenly come over me!

  • I’ve only ever known good experiences when it’s come to siblings, myself and friends. As long as you don’t make the baby appear to be favoured I’m sure your daughter will be fine. We make jokes like “if he’s too noisy we will stick him down the garden” we found that the children thought the idea was funny but they were quick to defend him and side with him and tell me that they’d stick me in the garden instead! 😳we are a blended family so we’ve tried to be more cautious in making any of the older siblings feel like little one is favoured. You will be fine xxxx

  • My oldest girl is 2 and my youngest is 6months I’m not going to lie it’s hard going at times but you just do it once you get yourself into a routine it becomes easier..my oldest has took to being a big sister so well when I watch her do little things for her baby sister my heart literally melts lol…and you will love them both just the same xx

  • I had a 1 year old and a baby was hard at first but when you get used to it and a routine everything was fine. X
