Hi Can I have a private post please.
I received a letter today regarding my daughters attendance to school. It is at 93%
I know it is a letter they have to send out but it’s made me feel really rubbish. She has been off with a stomach bug(48hours) and the most recently was the flu where I had to keep her off the Friday and Monday due to high temperature etc. The only other times she has been off has been to attend two dentist apps (dropped her in late morning and she stayed in school the rest of the day) And I couldn’t turn down the app as we had been on the waiting list for about 7 weeks!
but it contradicts itself with saying you have to keep them off at least 48hrs with sickness, high temperature etc. But the letter states that I have to improve her attendance so my question is what shall I do next time she’s sick just send her in and let her pass it round and feel rubbish all day. I’m not worried about the letter I just feel maybe her teacher might of had a word with me about her attendance rather than sending a letter home with my daughter. I have always notified the school when she’s been off and I don’t keep her off for no reason. She’s only 5 and kids get ill. Anybody else had one of these letters? TIA x
