Hi can I have a private post please. Just would like people’s opinions please. I have a child whose almost 7, his dad has never met him never been involved and spent most of his life in prison. No money ever sent and I never claimed any child maintenance as he never wanted to see him. His family have also never contacted never seen the child nor have they sent anything in 7 years. Just recently the dad killed himself, I am wondering if in the long run I should change my child’s surname to my last name? He currently has his dads as when he was born it was the right thing to do, but now I am worried when he’s older his name may be a problem and may make explaining what happened to his dad even harder? Any thoughts thankyou xx
