Hi can I have a private post please .. my son is 8 years old his dad is court ordered to see him 3 times a week but due to work and his father having a new son and new family he only sees my son once a fortnight (me and my sons dad split up when he was born) my son is now saying “I’d rather go to school than go and see my father” my sons exact words .. I used to have to pick my son up and give him to his dad .. he used to run away when his dad was at the front door and the tantrums are horrendous just curious at what age is it acceptable for me to let my son decide if he sees his dad or not?

When the child’s around the ages 8/9 the courts actually listen to what they want.. so around now as he’s old enough to decide whether or not he wants his deadbeat in his life x
As above the courts listen when they are 8. Plus he has broke the court order anyway if its in place to see him 3 times a week and its only once a fortnight that will go against him anyway. I would just tell him what your son has said x
