Hi can I please get a private post
I’m a FTM and due pretty soon. I find it hard to cope with stressful situations if I don’t have space to think and chill. My other half is going to be at the birth of course but honestly I know I’m going to get grouchy and mean but it’s his first too and I’d never take that away from him.
However the issue is my mum, now I love my mum to pieces but in stressful scenarios she’d be one of the worst people to have around.
She seems to be under the impression she’s coming to the birth but I have said to her several times that it will just be my partner and no one else.
Now she’s saying she will just wait outside ( I assume she means waiting area) for me to have the baby and she’s gonna be the first one to come in and see him right away etc.

The thought of this even stresses me out knowing she’d be out there waiting and it’s starting to agitate me more because she’s not giving me space when I need it

Is there any advice you guys can give me ? I don’t want to hurt her feelings but I want to be as relaxed as possible ?
I don’t know if the hospital will allow her to sit and wait if it’s stressing me out ?
I don’t want it to turn into an argument. Thanks in advance 🙂
