Hi can I please have a private post. I am currently awaiting councelling to help me overcome what was a difficult childhood. I grew up with an alcoholic stepfather lost my brother who died young through misadventure and have recently came to blows with my mum over her telling me how I should be. I suffered as a child and on a few occassions I was hit and one vivid memory which still haunts me today is of being punched in the side of my mouth by my stepfather on other occassions he would burst through doors shouting clip me across the head and put his fist through a door. My mother also got physical twice with me. I cut contact few months back due to my doctor referring me for counselling and on her advice. I have kiddies who keep asking when they are going to see nanny as she would see them with me from time to time. I have never confronted my mother on any of this and after all these years now realise why I would freeze up around her I am hoping counselling will give me the courage and strength to finally bury all my hurt as I suffer with depressive episodes too. Has anyone been through counselling and had to deal with anything like this Thank you
