Hi could you do another PPP on mums advice, not private chat thanks. I posted recently about finding out my 14yr old daughter is pregnant & had amazing advice/support from you guys so asking again for anyone who has experienced this. So because my daughter has a history of mental health issues, self harm, suicide attempts drinking drug use, an informal diagnosis of BPD (apparently she is too young to label/treat) I left her abusive dad a year ago & thats when she started to implode, social services are now part of our lives. I have always been very open about her issues & have asked for help/support for the past year as she was spiralling & I was terrified she was going to end up dead because of her reckless behaviour. The response I always got from SS is you’re doing fine she doesn’t meet the threshold for support! Fast forward to now, 14, pregnant & doing amazingly well. She has stopped all reckless behaviour, no smoking, drinking etc since the day she found out she was pregnant, I’m so proud of how she has already turned her life around for this little life growing inside her. My question is to people that have been here, what was the outcome with SS? I feel like screaming at the social worker, if you had helped when I asked maybe this would never have happened, but instead I’m bending over backwards to accommodate them! I’m worried given her past they will try to take her baby away, despite her showing that she is willing to do anything to be a good mum. She has all of our family’s support & the dad has now told his parents, they are being supportive now they’ve got over the initial shock! It would destroy her having this baby taken away from her & I would worry that she wouldn’t survive such a loss. I’m terrified they will try to take my grandchild away when he/she is born.
