Im asking behalf of my sister im wondering how much do ladies get paid for being pregant and on esa my sister is in a lot of debt owing money to a lot of people and preferably would like to get it sorted before baby is due in october aby advice would be great thank you

  • You don’t get anything while pregnant. She can claim child benefit and child tax when baby arrives (but she needs to register the birth first) and how much she’ll get from child tax credits depends on income (although I would think that she’d get full whack if she’s on ESA). I suggest CAB to help her with debts

  • You only get paid extra after baby is born. The only exception being if she gets the Β£500 grant through Job Centre to buy essentials for baby (which I don’t think they even do anymore).

  • She will get paid her normal amount of esa you don’t get extra money for being pregnant when baby’s born she will get child tax and child benefit πŸ™‚

  • You don’t get ‘paid’ for being pregnant and all the money from child tax and child benefit is for the child surely…

  • You don’t get paid for being pregnant πŸ˜‚ although you do get a 1 off payment of Β£500 if you apply for a sure start maternity grant
