Hi my little boy is 13 weeks old tomorrow but was 3 weeks early so corrected age would be 10 weeks. He’s very whingy all of the time and will only settle if held up on my shoulder which is really started to do my neck in. We get about 10-20 minutes of happy time out of him here and there during a day but the rest of the time he just whinges and whines. He falls asleep on my shoulder but the moment I put him down in his chair, on his bean bag, in the Moses basket etc he wakes immediately and whinges, cries & screams until I put him back on my shoulder. Any idea how I can break this habit as I can keep him there constantly and as he grows it’s going to be harder to have him in that position. Any ideas are welcome. He does have silent reflux but is on meds and they have made a massive improvement. He will go in his Moses basket at night and sleep for about 8-9 hours so I can’t work out why he won’t lay down during the day. TIA xx

He is 13 weeks. U need to put him down wether he is crying or not its tough but the longer u carry on like this the worse it will become.
if he is tired, he will sleep. at nap times, sit nex t to him, hand on tummy or something and sing to sleep. you’ll see alot of tears, but because you have cuddled so long, that’s what he expects. if you need to, have little jobs around the house to get done to distract you if he wont sleep. dont be afraid to hoover either….actually puts some to sleep!
I keep saying this but it Works, pop in him down with a dummy or not if you don’t use one make him all comfortable and play white noise sounds from YouTube like the Hoover which my little boy loves!, calms him and he falls right asleep c
Didn’t think they corrected them as 37 weeks is actually classed as full term? Anyhow have you tried swaddling him?
