Hi, not sure if this is the right page for this but just looking some advice or if anyone knows who could help.
I’m currently a single parent to an autistic son. I was placed in a three bedroom house by the housing executive as it was a run down property (no one else would take it basically so that why i was allowed the three bedroom) when I was 19 due to problems at home and harassment from the childs father which the police was involved in so I had to move to somewhere he didn’t know where I lived.. fast forward 5 years..
My neighbour has broken into my house, taking a number of things including private personal items making it perverted, constantly harassing me etc.. police is involved and I am currently on the housing list as a priority to move but the only problem is they are saying I am only entitled to a 2 bedroom house as it’s only me and my son.. but I have been using the 3rd (bedroom) as a sensory room for my son and he is used to having this room and is crucial in his development and is a great help to him.. surely I should not have to sacrifice this space that is part of my son’s routine just because I have to move due to no fault of my own and can’t live here in peace. Is there any way I can fight to be moved to another 3 bedroom property to keep a sensory room for my son instead of having to sacrifice it and try to make do with a 2 bedroom and take away part of my son’s routine.
Sorry that’s a bit long winded, but thank you for taking the time to read
