I’ve recently found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant and the father (who is my ex boyfriend of 2 years) told me to have a termination repeatedly, to which I told him I did not want to. He has now told me hes going to get a solicitor to try and take the baby away from me for full custody when he/she is born as they are labelling me as an “unfit mother” due to having previous depression. I am not stopping him from coming to my scans, seeing the baby and being at tbe birth. But im a little scared as i know nothing about law and cant help but feel intimidated. Do they have a case for this? I’m 22 doing a nursing degree and have somewhere to live for me and baby but still need to figure out child care with my degree but I am getting advice for that from the university. I’m happy and coping well but I can’t help but feel scared with the threats I’m getting. He has stopped all communication with me after saying he is getting a solicitor despite me asking to meet up and talk to him about his worries. I just feel very alone in this and as though I’m being bullied into having a termination through scaremongering. I know I’ll make a great mum but wondered what my rights were? His family have lots of money for good solicitors and mine have very little. Any advice and support would be much appreciated ❤

Nobody can take the baby away just because he says your unfit they would have to monitor you ect beforehand this. By the sounds of it you have your head screwed and will be a fab mum, dependant on where you are you will be eligible for money off your childcare fees through the university x
Depression doesn’t make you a bad parent!! I’m going through court atm and my mental health hasn’t even came into the equation! I guess he’s trying to bully and intimidate you, stand your ground and don’t let him get inside your head!❤️
