Hiya can I get a pp plz?
So Monday I took a pregnancy test and it come back positive, clear blue 2-3weeks, which make sense as I had unprotected sex on 21st April, which would make me 3weeks Friday (tomorrow).
What I don’t understand is I’ve downloaded a pregnancy app and it says i am 5week tomorrow and not 3?, it’s just randomly added 2 weeks on it, ( that would make it 7th April that I conceived), I was on period 4-7th April and definitely didn’t have sex that week, I’ve googled it and it just says, doctors will just random add an extra 2week and date it from the last day of my period and not my actual conception date… does anyone know why?

When I did a clear blue it said 2-3 weeks but when I read the box it said although the test says 2-3 it actually about 3-4 so always best to read. I think it’s just a guideline when it does the reading x
Pregnancy is dated from the first day of last period because it’s usually impossible to know exactly when conception took place as it depends on when you ovulate. You could have had sex and not conceived til 4-5 days after that. It’s easier to do it from first day of last period as that is something that is usually known
That’s because those things do it from the date of your last period although it actually takes two weeks for you to become pregnant so 3 is accurate x
Your number of weeks is based on the last day of your period x
The egg is already 2 weeks old when it is fertilised xx
The date usually changes once you have your dating scan anyway X
Always add 2 weeks to a clear blue.. Always go by the date of your last period.
They date you from last period, at my scan these dates were exact. X
You’re definitely 5 weeks. Add 2 weeks on for conception. It’s impossible to tell what date but it could’ve been anytime
Midwife will also add two weeks. As stated it goes from the first day of your last period x
