Hiya could I have a ppp?

I’m around 8 weeks pregnant and just had a quick read over my employment contract I work 8-5 mon-fri and my contract says I’m only entitled to 16 weeks maternity leave then I must return to work… now I need a little advice on what to do from here. I always thought maternity was a lot longer than 16 weeks for a start. But if that’s the case then they isn’t much I can do about it. What did all you mums do after having your babies? Did you leave work all together and be a full time mum? Or did you go back to work? Really considering not going back after the baby’s here. Work won’t drop my hours and 8-5 in my opinion is way to long to leave a baby so little. I don’t want to miss out on so much of their lives because of work if I can afford not to go while my oh works. He’s happy with me not going back. I’m stuck what to do. I have a while to think about it yet so any advise would be helpful! Tia
