In need of advice please..
My daughter is 16, left school this year. Hated school due to being bullied, she didn’t get any GCSEs because she was never there. She enrolled at college and started in September . She hated the course and really didn’t want to go. Anyway she found a part time job which worked well with her days off college. She gets up and goes and has never had a day off. She loves earning money. So today she went to college and was meant to have a meeting about moving to a different course. She didn’t stay for the meeting , came home and said why bother changing courses when she really doesn’t want to be there. I gets a phone call to say due to her attendance and not going to the meeting today she’s been kicked off the course !!! Brilliant … just what we need. My question is, the law states they have to stay in some sort of training till they’re 18. This is impossible . She’s hated school , she hated college and now says she just wants to earn money and work. The thing is I know she would get up every day and go to work because she likes earning money. Can we get in trouble for her getting a full time job rather than training or college ? Also surely the college should have given her a warning or placed her on a attendance report before just kicking her out.
