Just want to ask those parents who have children on the autistic spectrum about meltdowns. .. can it be possible for a child age 5 on spectrum to only have meltdowns in the comfort of their own home? Also another question can an autistic child commenly take a lot of things literally when said in joke context?

Yes ,this is why it took so long for us to get a diagnosis in answer to your question about meltdowns ,in my sons case he will hold it together all day and then bam 💥 it all comes out at home ,he also does not get jokes and takes things quite literally x
Yes very common, most children will hold things in till they get home as it’s their safe place.
And pretty common for them not to get sarcasm or jokes. They will take things literally xxx
