My LG (23 months) is in hospital right now I’m in with her overnight she’s been in since Friday and won’t be leaving until Monday (maybe later) the thing is I’m just not coping very well, my LG is getting agitated as she has an IV in her hand and I can’t think of anything decent for us to do I can’t sleep for fear I’ll miss something I’m not completely sure what I’m expecting from this post I just feel so lost being on my own with her I feel horrible for her have any mums been through this? How did you cope? TIA xxx

  • Sleep, sleep is the best thing, when she’s asleep you sleep.
The nurses and doctors will wake you when they need you.
My son spent 4 nights in and they came every 4 hours to do his obs whilst we slept. I woke up as quick as anything.
You need to look after yourself because soon your littlen is going to feel loads better and you’ll all be home and she’ll have loads of energy and you’ll feel drained!
If anyone comes to visit go for a shower or a quick walk outside to stretch your legs and clear your head.
Whatever wrong with your littlen you’re in the right place xx

  • Sleep they will wake you if they need u. My son got admitted at 6 weeks old. I was in er from 8 that night till 6 the morning. The doctors let me sleep when they check him on their first rounds. On the second round the woke me. I was so tired. Nurses also let me till they needed me. I never left their I showed and ate their. They was awesome
