Please can I have a privet post desperate for advice. My daughters bio dad walked out soon after her birth. A few years later I married someone else and changed her name via deed poll as bio dad had disappear for 6 years. Anyway her passport was in the new name no problem at all however I tried to renew passport recently and have been told the deed poll isn’t a legal document and I need to get bio dad’s permission to change name as he’s on birth cert I’ve not seen him nor heard from in 13 years and I can’t afford to take him to court ect what the hell do I do? All her medical and educational paper work is in the new name and has been for 6+years I don’t get why the first passport was issued no problem but years later there’s an issue I don’t know what to do I can’t find him due to dv I am scared to try
