Please could I have a private post…. sorry it’s so long
I have 2 boys aged 10&4 I split from their Dad (my husband) 2+ years ago but we aren’t divorced yet. We have had social services involved because of my eldest state of mind and also us not being able to communicate without conflict.
The issue at the moment is that my physical health is affecting me getting them to school/pre school. I have issues anyway as my eldest hates school, I wanted to home school but their Dad and school and social say that school is the only constant stable thing for them and it would be worse if I did. I have no family support (they actually sided with my ex over money mostly) and no friends close enough to help. I can manage most of the time but the last 2 weeks they have missed 3/4 days of school because I have been to unwell to take them. At the last meeting my ex said he wants social to take them off me and give them to him, he was told that they had no remit to do that as the boys are safe and well cared for and that if he wants that he should go to court, he made excuses about money and proof etc but basically he has never been able to handle them full time and I’m sure he really doesn’t want that anyway. I have emailed school and social today asking if they can help with a taxi perhaps for the mornings, does anyone know if this is possible or what else I can do. I have asked other mums for lifts every now and then but I’m not close enough to anyone to ask them to do it everyday. I can manage to collect them as I have taken my meds and feel better by that time of day but mornings are just a total nightmare for me!
I actually wrote this a few weeks ago and since then the school replied to my email just telling me it was my legal duty to get them to school and I should consider moving them to the school in my village, but social and parent advisor have said no to them moving schools but no one has a better idea. My ex’s new gf has now offered to take my eldest every Wednesday which is a huge help but still doesn’t solve the other days. Their Dad works away all week.Anyones helpful advice would be appreciated 😊
