Please help!!
I feel like I’m losing my mind.
I have a 12 yr old boy who is the laziest person I have ever met. He hasn’t been brought up this way and has always been like this but at 12 is now becoming worse. He has to be prompted to do anything, he lies about then doing it. I’m not just talking about chores, I’m talking about everyday stuff, cleaning teeth, washing, wiping his bottom. He has this demeanour like he doesn’t care and drops his head and smirks. I’ve tried everything, punishment, threats, tough love, gentle persuasion, incentives…nothing works. He doesn’t take no care in his personal hygiene, how he looks or dresses, his bedroom is disgusting and I’ve given up tidying it.
Please tell me I’m not the only one? Is there something wrong with him? Any advice would good, bash me I don’t care I’m at my wits end!!!
