Please tell me I’m not going mad or being selfish. So I’m 34 weeks pregnant and my sisters like agreed months ago are planning to throw me a ‘surprise’ baby shower. I said I wasn’t bothered but they wanted to do something special for me as I arranged there’s previously. Turns out my mother in law (who my relationship is a bit of a struggle, due to different outlooks on life) has started to organise one too. So they decided after arranging everything to invite my family a long when both family’s have already booked venues etc. Long story short the have ended up merging it in to one reluctantly on both sides. Family and 2 of my friends have been invited by my mil and she has decided to invite all of her friends because ‘it’s in a pub, so it’s just like bumping in to them for a drink’ although I’m greatful of everyone’s efforts my partner thinks I’m being ungrateful because I don’t want my baby shower to be a piss up of loads of people I don’t know?? am I being selfish or would you agree a baby shower is not somewhere ‘meet your mate for a drink or two!’ I’m losing the will to live with all this drama. Why don’t people think I have more important things to worry about at 34 weeks pregnant
