Ppp. Everytime I take my youngest to my in-laws he seems to get very irritated very quickly. When all my in-laws are there he just screams the whole time. There’s usually between 8-10 adults and 7-8 children aging from 2 to 10 in the house hold, my baby being the 2 year old. It can get cramped and stuffy quite quickly. Next week they have invited everyone for an early Christmas meal on the Friday so everyone can exchange presents as everyone has there own family on Christmas day. Now my issue is everytime they do a big meal like this I end up sitting in the car for hours with my youngest as he just won’t settle. My husband tried making a comment to them about leaving him with my parents for the meal otherwise it’s another day of me sitting in the car again. There reply was why would we leave him out. I just don’t understand why my son doesn’t like the house his never comfortable there and just screams. I thought about leaving him with my parents and recording him opening the presents. They won’t come to our house as they say it’s to far to travel for them (about half hour drive). Should I just bring him to save all arguments and end up sitting in the car or would you leave my son with my parents so I can actually enjoy the Christmas meal and presents for the kids and with my other kids. What would you do xxx

  • I personally would be giving abit of tough love here. Have you thought maybe he is screaming because he knows you will sit in the car with him? Take him, enjoy your day and just let him see he won’t get his own way if he screams.

  • It.could just be too busy and noisy for him and that can be scary for a little.one try headphones with a tablet or fon with some kid friendly apps on it or watch for him becoming upset and take him out for a.walk to get away for a bit xx
