ppp..not baby related but need to hear others experiences , I went for my smear few weeks ago, had the result come bk abnormal cells changes, I have to go for a colposcopy test tue, I’m petrified, I’ve never had this b4 and don’t know what to expect .. like I said just want to hear others experiences, how long do u have to wait for the results?

Member reply – I had to have a colposcopy in December last year after an abnormal smear. It was over in a few minutes and I was told I would have a wait of up to 6 weeks to have my results back. I had a letter a week later and that told me I had pre-cancerous cells and that they needed removing via a LETZ treatment. This was done the very next week and was over in a flash.
You’re bound to be nervous, I felt exactly the same as you. I read a lot about it all on the NHS website to prepare myself but from that I built everything up to be much worse than it was. The nurses were so kind and helpful and the treatments were fine too. I am so glad I went for that smear test and followed everything through as they recommended as who knows what would have happened if I hadn’t!

I had one of these, was a bit uncomfortable. I worked myself up so much beforehand though that I had a mini panic attack and ended up in tears in the table. Honestly wasn’t that bad at all. Waited six weeks for my results and had my follow up colposcopy 6 months later which came back clear (waited about 5 weeks for results on that one). Takes a few minutes but really no worse than a smear and totally worth having. Hope it goes well! X
They tell u that day I was told when I had my colposcopy and when they new I was sterilised they gave me treatment there aswell straight away
