Private post please – Hey guys, I’m just looking for some friendly advice from more experienced mummies! So i’m a first time mum to my one year old daughter, I find she’s still having difficulties eating solid food. For example , for breakfast she eats things like porridge, cereals, bananas , yogurts , all soft foods is no problem, but when i cut up a bit of toast say, or crackers, even the likes of ham and cheese she coughs, almost like she doesn’t chew her food properly or something ?? and because of this i’m afraid to give her certain foods in case god forbid she chokes… at dinner time its very much the same thing, she loves her pasta, but again there’s a certain number of foods that she coughs while swallowing… I often give her the food jars which she enjoys, but to be fair I don’t like giving her them as i feel shes not getting the proper nutritions her body needs , but id rather her eat something rather then nothing not to mention best to avoid a choking hazard… Maybe i’m been over protective? but has anyone else been experiencing the same with there little ones? Im aware shes meant to be well onto her solid foods by now, i also see other kiddys her age who eat foods no problem so it’s just a bit concerning… any advice will be much appreciated, Thanks x x
