When is it acceptable to let your child make their own way home from school? I am purely just curious I’m not ready to allow my son do this he’s 7 I’ll know when I’m ready but I’m curious on other people views, as we were coming home from school today I was pretty much left from when he bolted out the school doors then met him back in the house as he was away in front on his bike, he’s a very mature 7 year old checks roads and comes off his bike to cross them although that’s not an issue as there’s no roads anyways but still I kind of felt abandoned on the way back haha, I’ll be walking him till high school tho not ready to let my baby grow up any more just yet we’ve already stopped the kisses and cuddles “it’s embarrassing” in front of his mates 😭😪

At our school they have to be at least in yr 4 and you have to sign a form.. I think I might let mine in yr 5 or 6 or probably secondary school 😂😂
I let my daughter walk too and from school when she went into year 6. It was a good 10 minute walk
