Essential Oils Nearly Killed My Dog-Must Read

Warning, Saturday night I got home late and my dog didn’t recognise me. Being a nanny dog I thought I woke him and he was having a night terror.

Sunday he was still acting weird, he just wasn’t his normal self.

I realised I had been running my new diffuser and decided to turn it off.

Today whilst at work my friend who pops into let my dog out said he would not come out from beneath the bed very odd behaviour from a normally very sociable friendly little guy.

I came home from work early to check on him and again he was very confused and out of character,I thought it best to take him to the emergency vets to get him checked over.

Turns out the tea tree oil I had been using in my diffuser was toxic to dogs, I didn’t even put it in his body, even the smell of it can cause damage.

Thankfully tests show that his liver is okay but we aren’t out of the woods yet.

It is now 72 hours after his exposure he was given fluids under his skin to try to clear out all the toxins from his tiny body.

The vets sad they are seeing more an more cases like this as the popularity of essential oils is growing.
