Hi can I have a private post please. Just looking for some help or advice that maybe in a similar situation. I’m in South Wales.

I have a friend who has recently split up with his partner. The ex is due to give birth in the next few weeks but have said that she is not going to put her ex partner on the child’s birth certficate although the child is 100% his. The ex partner had said my friend can see the child on a Sunday at her home when her other 3 children are being looked after by family members, how ever she has also said that he is not allowed in the hoUse when her 3 older children are present. So chances are there will be some weeks when she cannot arrange suitable childcare and my friend will not be able to have contact. The reason for this is my friend had lived with this girl and her children the last year and the 2 youngest have Called Him dad. I understand this woman wants to protect her other children, but it just goes to show there is no risk of harm if she has happily played on long with this lie for the last year.I’ve done some research and understand that the first action that needs to be addressed is mediation and then if that doesn’t work it would be applying to the court… but how much is all of this going to cost and also because the woman has stated the farther will not be named on the birth certificate does my friend actually have any right to fight for his child?
