Can i have a post please??

How would you know if you had a blood clot in your leg? I gave birth 17 days ago to my 6th baby and afterwords the doctors tried giving me injections to reduce the risk of blood clots but i refused them as im terrified of needles and no way i could inject myself. They said its just because your less mobile while being in hospital. I didnt have a section and was still quite mobile. For the past couple of days i have woken up with an awful pain in my left calf (like the pain thats left after getting cramp) but more intense. After a while it eases off. I went for a sleep today as baby had me up all night and when i woke up i was barely able to walk because of the pain i asked my partner to look for any swelling etc but theres none. My leg is a differnt colour to my pther one tho. More red/purple colour slightly but noticeable. As i said it eases off during the day so its worse if my legs are resting its sore to touch and when i woke was like some of my leg was burning? Does anyone know what it might be if i need to see a doctor or not? Sorry for the essay x
