Can I have a post please? My 4yr old has tonsilitus. He’s been to two doctors in the last two days. When we went to the doctor earlier it was because his temp reached 39.2 but when we got seen it was at 37.9 so we were sent home with different antibiotics because the previous one made him physically ill. Doctor said no further action required just Calpol and start new course of antibiotics Thursday morning. Anyway I’ve put him to bed and he’s gone to sleep straight away a couple hours on I went to check on him and his temp had gone back up (39.4) So I woke him up and gave him more Calpol and he’s gone back asleep. I left it an hour and a half and went to check on him again and he’s roasting (wearing just his pants and kicked blanket off) and he felt hot still so I checked again and it’s gone up to 39.7!!! The thermometer is one of them inferred ear ones that the docs use and it’s brand new. The second doctor we saw today was a 111 doc. My boy is fast asleep and the temp doesn’t seem to be bothering him! What do i do?! I don’t want to drag him out of bed and back to the hospital in the middle of the night. Obviously I would do if I needed to. Any advise please?? Sorry for long post xx
