Can I have a post please…. my little lad has been full of a cold for a few weeks now, been to the docs as he kept getting a rash but they just said it was the virus coming out… last night he was complaining of his mouth hurting (not his throat) so I had a look and couldn’t see anything, gave him some calpol and a cold drink, he went back to sleep… still the same today with his cough and runny nose but when Iv checked his mouth again Iv found a big yellow lump at the back of his throat, it’s not attached to the tonsils so I don’t think it’s tonsillitis.. I have got him another appointment at the doctors on Thursday but I just wanted to see if anyone had any idea of that this is 🙈 thanks xx

Strep throat? Or a bad cause of tonsillitis that was left unnoticed?
I wouldn’t wait til Thursday, I would phone as soon as your GP surgery opens tomorrow and ask for an emergency appointment. He needs antibiotics, I would say x
