Can i have a post please. Not baby related but need a bit of help. I have just found out my 18 year old sister is taking anti depressents. Also that she has been self harming she has spoke to someone that a few times she has wanted to end her life. Now my parents split up last year and my mum doesnt want my dad to know. I cant keep something like this from him i dont feel its right to. If something was to happen to her and he found out that i knew and never said anythi g he would be devastated. My question is what would you do. Should i say something to my dad or just leave it. I only want to tell him as im worried and think that he deserves to know. X thanks x

Ultimately it’s your sisters decision not yours or your mum’s. She’s an adult now. But saying that if she stays at his then I would maybe mention it so he can be observant while she’s there. Otherwise if your sister wants him to no she will tell him.
ur sister needs all the support she can get. Mayb talk to ur sister about how shes feeling n then decide whether to tell ur dad or not but he does have a right to know as its his daughter aswell
As much as I think a dad deserves to know I think this decision should be made by your sister. If she wants to let him know then she will, she might be upset with it being broadcasted x
It’s best for sister to tell him or speak with her and see if she is Ok with you telling him….your sister needs support and going behind her back wouldn’t be supportive …
