Can I have a pp please. Me and my ex have just split so need advice about how to manage parenting. Mums who have kids between 5 and 10 out there I have a few questions. Do you separate time equally? If your child wanted to come back home from dads early for no reason would you let them or would you make them stay and spend the time with their dad? Thank you in advance. Any other advice would be appreciated too.

I don’t have first hand experience as my son’s father is a douche but my plan was always to set a routine and stick to it so child knew where and when they would be with each parent. Obviously you can accommodate different events throughout the year, birthdays, Christmas etc.

My eldest two stay at their dad’s a couple nights a week, doesn’t seem to be a set routine really, my 8yo wanted to come back home and I let her. My 10yo doesn’t always want to go and I don’t make her. If they don’t want to stay they don’t have to. They go just for tea sometimes. They do like spending time wit their dad but they prefer to stay at home most of the time
