Can I have a pp

My lb is nearly 5 and he is an absolute nightmare, he won’t listen to anything he is told, all he does is whine and moan and cry about everything all day long every day, I blame myself, i think is he not getting enough attention? Is he bored? Is he unhappy? What am I doing wrong? It doesn’t matter what I do he is never happy!!! And then i just end up giving out to him all the time because nothing works which just makes myself and him feel terrible, I guess what I am asking is do you think this is normal behavior? Do you think he might grow out of it? is there anything I can do about it? because I’m at my wits end with him, I have thought about getting him assessed as some of my family have ADHD and aspergers and i just want him to be happy. I feel like I’m a terrible mom because I just don’t know how to deal with his behavior. He is so smart and so good hearted and I love him to pieces but everyday is very difficult with him.

  • Sounds like he needs clear rules and boundaries and you need to stick to punishments consistently otherwise if you give in he will just continue the bad behaviour. Ignore the whining and praise any little thing he does that’s good.

  • I went though the exact same thing with my daughter when she was 4. Was terrible took her to the docs and I thought maybe there was an underlying problem. Turned out she was just being a little shit.. She still has her moments but she is 100% better.. x

  • What do you do with him during the day? He doesn’t sound too dissimilar to the 5yr old I know & love (when she isn’t seriously winding everyone up), they like to be busy but get bored of the same old thing
