I got married a few weeks back and I’m wondering how do i go about changing my old surname to my new one on my child’s birth certificate do I need to take any doc and do i need to book an appointment xx

I dont think you can change it on a birth certificate.
You need to re register your child yes,saw something about it in registry office when registering my son x
