Can I have a private post please.

6 years ago my partner and I went through a rough time of arguments and our relationship was poor, 2 very young kids took its toll, we had a huge row one day and we split up after a lot of heated words, the next day he came home and we sorted it out and 6 years later we are married and happy. January this year I found out the day he left he went to stay with his friend, they went out and he ended up sleeping with someone else, hours after we had split up, I’ve recently found this out from a 3rd party, I confronted him he admitted it, begged for forgiveness says we were in an awful place then full of arguments and didn’t tell me because he was a coward and didn’t want to lose me. He swears he has tried to be a better person since that day and on every other scale he is the perfect husband and dad to our children. I just can’t shake this feeling of being a mug, he is saying we had split up he genuinely thought it was over but he didn’t give it even 24 hours before he was bedding someone else, I suppose I don’t know what I’m asking but I feel so stupid to want to be together.
